It’s not Mac related at all otherwise I would post a review for MacMerc.com. But I am loving my Roomba!

It just nicely goes about the business of cleaning the floor, quietly chirping a little tune to itself. It occasionally stops its semi-random zig-zagging to spiral around before resuming its coarse.

It is not all that intelligent mind you, it finds its way around by gently bumping into the walls surrounding it and filling in the space between. Often it covers the same area over and over while leaving another nearly untouched. It has yet to knock anything over but it did manage to sink its bristly teeth into some of the lower hanging leaves of one of my roommate’s plants and drag the thing for a foot or two before it was apprehended. But now that I know the kinds of things that tempts the Roomba to misbehave, I can prepare the room (much as you would before using any vacuum), set the Roomba in the middle of the space, set it in motion and then go about my life.

Pretty impressive.

One Response to The Roomba

  1. Ha! That’s great. My wife and I have walked past Roombas in the store many times. We’ve wondered how one would work in a real life situation. Way to be bleeding-edge!
