Jedi Playground

Today’s kids are spoiled. Back in my day, we didn’t have lightsabers. We threw rocks and used harsh language and we liked it.

These days it’s not safe for kids to play on the playground without being able to defend themselves with a laser sword and a few rudimentary force powers.

See what I mean?

Actually this video was created by the cousin I stayed with while in San Francisco and stars my nieces and nephews.

James! Nice work, dude!!

James “MacManX” Huff of MacMerc.com and Über Moderator of the MacMerc.com Forums managed to get my little Allan Smithee / Dashboard observation Slashdotted. News in the Mac world has been kinda slow lately so I’m very pleased to have one of our unique stories highlighted. Thanks James–you rock!

PS: I take a certain joy in watching people react to this story. Many think I’m saying “Dashboard is stolen from Konfabulator” when in truth I never mentioned Konfabulator at all. I only added the web survey after the comments ignited in debate over who was first or what terminology is attributed to which technology. All I was really doing was making an observation and giving a little background on the meaning that name implies. Funny how people can fuel their own arguments.
