Since I’m enjoying my new ProScope HR so much, I thought I would start posting the pictures here (as well as on Flickr) and see if anyone can identify what these things are.
This first one is a fairly “everyday” object, but you might not recognize it magnified to this degree. Post your guess in the comments.

Nope and nope. You are both thinking “actual size.” You have to remember this is magnified 50x and is probably only 1/4″ in size in reality.
well, it looks metal. and the round thing could be a screw or nail. Am I close?
It is made of metal, yes.
it’s a hinge of some sort. don’t you just love the mystery of it?
I guess some would argue that it “hinges,” but it’s not a hinge.
